Memorial Day Message from Governor Parnell

Statement

Governor Sean Parnell today issued the following statement in honor of Memorial Day:

"This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the men and women who have given so much to defend our nation and the freedoms we hold dear.

"The patriotism displayed by those who wear the uniform is a bedrock value shared by veterans who have gone before us, and who have selflessly given all for us as a people and for the United States. It's why every day we honor all who have made that ultimate sacrifice.

"We thank God for them, and on this Memorial Day, we honor their love of country and service on our behalf. We praise our warriors and their families, and we lay a wreath of gratitude for the fallen.

"God bless America, and the great state of Alaska."
